The SEO Team Lead will be responsible for managing the company’s overall SEO strategy to ensure optimal performance across all digital channels. You will lead the SEO team, oversee content optimization, on-page and off-page strategies, and drive results to improve search engine rankings and organic traffic. This role involves both strategic planning and hands-on implementation, along with leading and mentoring a team of SEO specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the overall SEO strategy to improve organic search rankings, traffic, and conversions.
  • Lead and manage a team of SEO specialists, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Conduct comprehensive keyword research and analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Implement and oversee on-page optimization (meta tags, title tags, alt text, internal linking, etc.) and off-page optimization (link building, outreach, etc.) strategies.
  • Work closely with content, development, and marketing teams to ensure SEO best practices are followed during content creation and website updates.
  • Conduct technical SEO audits to identify and address issues affecting crawlability, indexability, and overall site performance.
  • Monitor and analyze SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar tools, and provide actionable insights.
  • Track and report key SEO metrics, including organic traffic, keyword rankings, and conversion rates, and present them to stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to ensure SEO strategies are current and effective.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive link-building strategy to enhance the domain authority of key pages.
  • Collaborate with the web development team to ensure website updates are SEO-friendly and maintain website speed and performance.
  • Regularly evaluate competitors’ SEO strategies and performance to identify areas for improvement and differentiation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, IT, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in SEO, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms, and ranking factors.
  • Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, etc.
  • Experience with technical SEO audits and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of on-page SEO (content optimization, meta tags, schema markup) and off-page SEO (link-building strategies, guest posting).
  • Experience working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from an SEO perspective.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain SEO concepts to non-technical team members.
  • Experience with local SEO and optimizing for mobile is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, Shopify, or custom platforms.
  • Experience working in a digital agency or fast-paced environment is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of PPC and other digital marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of international SEO and optimization for multiple regions/languages
