Role Description
This is a remote contract role for an SEO Sales Closer at Jolly SEO. The SEO Sales Closer will be responsible for closing deals on sales calls. We are specifically searching for someone who can handle business hours (9am-5pm) for the time US East Coast (UTC/GMT -4/-5). Jolly SEO’s marketing team will bring you leads. Whether a lead comes inbound as a result of the strong demand for our services, or our outreach generates new awareness & interest, your job is to:

- Attentively study each lead who books a call with you, so you are fully prepared pre-call;
- Qualify each lead using our scoring system, ensuring that the lead & Jolly’s services are a good fit;
- Close all qualified leads, maintaining a closing rate of a minimum of 40%;
- Send Terms of Agreement & Invoice, ensuring completion of both;
- Introduce the new client (via email) to Jolly SEO’s Client Success team;
- For all post-call leads you do not immediately close, send a minimum of 3 follow up messages;
- Pass any ‘Cold’ leads back to Jolly SEO’s marketing team to continue nurturing via our newsletter, free community, strong founder social media profiles, etc.
- Suggest areas where Jolly can improve the sales funnel.
Optionally, additional compensation is available for SEO Sales Closers who wish to generate their own pipeline.The primary function of this role is to close deals on sales calls.
Compensation
This role’s compensation will be primarily commission. The proposed format is: $75 per sales call.
- This compensates your pre-call study + the 30-40 minute call to close a deal.
- 20% Commission on each sale’s deposit.
- Sales deposits average $3,500, i.e. your commission should average $700 per close.
- This compensates post-call communication, from sending Terms of Agreement + Invoice, to lead follow ups, to introducing to the Client Success team.
What is the total compensation? For the minimum 10 calls per month & 40% close rate, you should expect to earn a minimum of $3,550 per month:
- Each month, you can expect a minimum of 10 calls. At the minimum number of calls, your monthly Call Compensation = $750.
- At your expected minimum close rate (40%) & call volume (10 calls), your monthly Commission Compensation = $2,800 (4 closed deals x $700)
- Minimum Compensation Total = $3,550
Put another way, for each set of 4 calls + and pre-/post-call work, you should earn a minimum of $1,000. If you want to double or triple your call volume; improve your close rate; etc., you can double or triple your compensation.
Required Qualifications
- Strong ability to close SEO sales (40%+ historical close rate)
- Strong knowledge of white hat linkbuilding (there is zero paid linkbuilding at Jolly SEO)
- Attention to detail, both in pre-call study and post-call Terms of Agreement + Invoicing
- Willingness to consistently follow up so as not to contribute to leads growing cold
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Desire to serve UTC/GMT -4/-5 business hours
- Bonus: knowledge of PPC, Local SEO, Technical SEO, or other complementary services
