Position Summary
Windscribe is seeking an analytical and data-driven SEO & Content Manager to join the growth team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a full-funnel inbound SEO strategy for the biggest VPN company in Canada. You will work closely with the Head of Growth to formulate and implement an SEO program that delivers both traffic and revenue. This is a high impact opportunity with an unlimited growth potential. You will oversee all aspects of content creation and strategy, ensuring it’s aligned with SEO best practices and our business objectives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, data-driven, and passionate about creating impactful, user-friendly experiences that help drive traffic, leads, and conversions.
Key Responsibilities
- SEO Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings, increase traffic, and drive conversions.
- Conduct keyword research and use SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs) to identify and optimize high-impact opportunities.
- Manage on-page SEO factors such as meta tags, header tags, keyword placement, internal linking, and URL structure.
- Collaborate with web developers and designers to enhance site structure, page speed, mobile optimization, and overall user experience.
- Stay informed about the latest algorithm updates and emerging SEO trends, adjusting strategies and tactics as needed.
- Content Management & Strategy
- Own the editorial calendar and content strategy, aligning it with SEO and overall marketing goals.
- Research, plan, and produce high-quality, SEO-optimized content across various formats (blog posts, landing pages.).
- Ensure all published content is consistent with brand voice, style, and guidelines while meeting SEO best practices.
- Oversee freelancers, copywriters, and content partners to ensure timely delivery and high-quality output.
- Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including organic traffic, conversion rates, keyword rankings, and backlink profile.
- Use data insights to refine SEO campaigns, landing pages, and content strategies.
- Prepare regular performance reports for stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practices across the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders—including Marketing, Product, and Web Development—to align SEO & content initiatives with broader business goals.
- Outreach & Link Building
- Develop and execute link-building campaigns to grow and maintain a strong backlink profile.
- Identify and partner with relevant publications, influencers, and industry leaders to drive content promotion and brand visibility.
- Monitor backlink quality and address any issues such as spam or toxic links.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- SEO Expertise: 3-5+ years of experience in SEO, with a proven track record of improving organic search performance for sizable websites or e-commerce platforms.
- Content Management: Demonstrated experience in content strategy, editorial planning, and writing/editing high-quality content. Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress,Ghost) is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz).
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic web design principles for SEO.
- Familiarity with marketing automation and CRM systems (HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce) is advantageous.
- Analytical Skills: Strong capability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize results.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present and articulate SEO recommendations clearly to various audiences.
- Leadership & Project Management: Proven ability to lead and mentor team members, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date on search engine guidelines, digital marketing trends, user experience, and general best practices in SEO and content marketing.
