Key Responsibilities

There are three parts to this job: reporting, advising, and systems building.

  1. Reporting & Analysis:
  • Analyze clients’ and prospective clients’ websites to identify SEO weaknesses and opportunities.
  • Perform detailed keyword research, competitive analysis, and technical audits to guide optimization strategies.
  • Prioritize and recommend updates to client sites based on ROI potential and strategic value.
  • Regularly monitor and report on site performance using tools such as (but not limited to) Google Analytics and Google Lighthouse.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights to clients and internal teams, backed by data and analysis.
  1. Advising & Collaboration:
  • Partner with other departments to support sales pitches, planning for new websites, and updates to existing websites.
  • Educate and guide developers and designers on SEO best practices and the latest search engine algorithm and policy changes.
  • Serve as a trusted SEO expert, advising both internal teams and clients on how to align SEO strategies with broader business goals.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and communicate relevant updates and their potential impact on client strategies, especially on AI’s role in shaping the industry.
  1. Practice Development & Systematizing:
  • Build and scale Alley’s SEO practice by creating repeatable, efficient, and sustainable processes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, frameworks, and playbooks for SEO best practices and workflows.
  • Identify and implement tools, including LLMs, to support and streamline SEO efforts across teams.
  • Establish quality control measures to ensure consistency and effectiveness in our SEO practice across all client work.
  • Lay the groundwork to support future growth in SEO and adjacent services such as analytics and testing.

By mastering these areas, you’ll play a pivotal role in making Alley’s SEO service a trusted and indispensable offering, driving meaningful results for our clients. As the practice expands, so too will your opportunities, eventually leading to hiring and management.

  • You have experience working in an agency.
