About the Role
The Digital Marketing Manager – Email/CRM + Website/SEO will bring the Lightship brand and customer experience to life across CRM, email, website content, and other digital communications channels. You have 5+ years of previous experience owning strategy and driving day-to-day tactical initiatives across CRM/email and .com (website) content/SEO to support customer acquisition, engagement, brand awareness, and revenue growth. You have a strong grasp of the written word – and love writing crisp, concise copy and CTAs within a defined brand voice. Cohorts, segmentation, customer journeys, content mapping, SEO audits, and A/B testing – you’ve done it all – and you’re excited to help refine and build it out at Lightship.
Our ideal fit will be a marketer who straddles the creative and analytics worlds with a background in lifecycle marketing, growth, acquisition, and/or content, and who is excited about our mission to bring electrification to new demographics and new demographics to the recreational vehicle industry.
As the fourth full-time member of the Marketing team, you will collaborate with and report to the Director of Marketing. We also work closely with agencies and contractors to bring our product and brand to life across our marketing channels, so having experience working with and hiring contractors would be a plus for this role.
This is an incredibly exciting and foundational time for Lightship and you will be integral to helping us build the Lightship brand and product experience for future and potential customers as we launch the L1 – an all-electric, beautifully designed, and seamlessly integrated travel trailer built for the electric age – to the world. Given the trajectory of the company, this role has high potential for both impact and growth, and to expand into ownership of additional digital channels.
Responsibilities
- Build, plan, implement and report on a comprehensive digital marketing strategy across channels, including email/CRM marketing, website content, and SEO, syncing up plans with the broader marketing and product calendars
- Manage email and lifecycle marketing strategy and execution, including one-time, recurring, automated, and dynamic content-driven campaigns across customer segments from start to finish – including set-up, creation, scheduling, testing, tagging, deployment, measurement, and optimization using marketing automation tools
- Analyze and report on performance of email marketing channels and journeys, make recommendations based on performance data, and get buy-in from key stakeholders
- Manage segmentation strategy, incorporating insights and creativity to explore and test new segments, identify opportunities for A/B testing in segmentation and messaging in order to optimize and drive improvements to KPIs
- Assist with the continued evolution and development of CRM platform (Hubspot) as the product, company, and customer experience evolves to help connect marketing leads to sales and demonstrate marketing ROI
- Manage the customer digital experience on lightshiprv.com – with a particular focus on long-form blog content (also known as the Lightship Journal) – collaborate with other team members to build out content calendars and promotional plans
- Guide on-page and technical SEO implementation across all owned channels
- Create measurement tracking criteria and provide monthly and ad hoc reporting, tracking against marketing KPIs
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years in customer-first digital marketing, with experience in lifecycle, email automation, customer engagement and content creation focused on brand awareness and growth metrics
- Deep knowledge about customer segmentation, A/B testing best practices, list management, deliverability, GDPR and CAN-SPAM laws
- Experience editing and managing content through WordPress or similar CMS, and using SEO tools including Google Analytics/Looker, Search Console, SEMrush, or Ahrefs
- Strong writer – you love the written word, and writing long and short form content to brand guidelines. You have deep experience simplifying complex topics into a compelling story for various audiences and an extraordinary attention to detail, formatting, brand tone, and style guidelines
- Highly analytical, data-driven problem solver with an ability to prioritize and project manage toward milestones and clear impact
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at a D2C / B2C brand, preferable in the outdoor, travel, EV, RV, or luxury consumer goods industries
- Strong customer-first mindset, driven by curiosity
- You get excited about the standout emails and SMS campaigns you receive from direct to consumer brands – maybe you even keep a folder or swipe file – bonus if you send one of your favorite campaigns in your application
- Startup experience, and/or excited to join a startup at a very exciting and integral time for the company
- Success in a fast-paced environment and comfort in navigating feedback from various stakeholders
- Passion and excitement for sustainability, climate tech and Lightship’s mission to bring both electrification and RVing or travel experiences to more demographics
- Knowledge of or interest in paid media or performance marketing – bonus
Equity
- Lightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.
- $89,000 – $112,000 a year
